I have chosen to do this because I think the dingy colouring and atmosphere that neo noir creates would work well with my film and theme of it. I also liked how the weather in Bladerunner worked, adding to the general downcast atmosphere of the film.
I have intergrated these aspects of Neo noir into my trailer by chosing to shoot my film in black and white and in dingy locations, such as by Camden Loch canal. This creates the very downcast atmosphere of neo noir that I wanted to recreate in my work. Two of the three shots (that of the murderer and the second victim) are filmed at night, which some of my favourite shots from The Dark Knight and Blade Runner are from. The shots of the first victim will be at twilight, on a grey day, so that the 'Blade Runner weather' aspect carries through into my work.

♥The first two screencaps come from Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight', and while there are flashes of bright colour (the Joker's smile and jacket in the first one, and the the flames and overall blue tone in the second.) The colours are otherwise quite desaturated, though not to the same extent as Fight Club and Blade Runner, but it keeps the dark atmosphere that is typical of Neo Noir.

Fight Club
♥The middle capture comes from Fight Club, and this is an shot of Marla Singer, a shot I want to emulate in my trailer and possibly on my magazine cover (although I would make it more of an aerial shot to disguise the murderer). Again it shows desaturated colouring and dingy lighting.

Blade Runner
♥The last two captures are from 80s sci-fi film, Blade Runner and show the characters, Rick Deckard and Pris. These two shots show the overall dingy atmosphere, and desaturated, grainy style of filming.
