For my coursework, I have decided to follow the route of making a teaser trailer, chosing the two mini paths of also making a film magazine cover and a poster for the movie.

Genre-wise, I have chosen to make a crime/murder mystery thriller, based on the true events of a murderer in the 1970s named David Berkowitz. However I have chosen to set my film in a contemporary time as it would be easier for my audience to relate to this . For a similar reason I have also not chosen not to show much of the background, as I don't want to give away much of the film in my teaser trailer.

I have chosen to this genre as I enjoy movies of this type and since shows like CSI, Bones and The Mentalist are popular, it follows that movies of the same type would also be popular.

Filming wise, I have chosen to shoot my film in the style of Neo-noir, which is films such as Sin City, Blade Runner, The Dark Knight and Fight Club. These are not black and white but the colours are dingy/desaturated.
